Addicted: Lesley spent up to three-and-a-half hours a day in the gym
It is now 11 years since she learned that Nicky was embroiled in an affair with the model Susie Bick - a discovery that began the undoing of what she had believed was a happy marriage and propelling her to a nervous breakdown.
Today, however, although separated, they are friends - and still married - with Nicky living four doors away in St John's Wood, London.
At the time, though, instead of hitting the drinks cabinet or taking refuge in the fridge, Lesley took out her frustration in the gym.
'I started exercising like crazy to get rid of my anger,' she says. 'The situation made me go hell for leather. I suddenly felt competitive. I wanted to be stick thin. I wanted to get out on the dating scene again.'
As a size 12, Lesley was working her way down to a size 8 in a matter of months

Among the several controversial seats for which candidates are yet to be finalised is Malviya Nagar. Kiran Walia and Health minister Yoganand Shashtri have reportedly fielded their names from the constituency. Sources indicate Shashtri would lose the battle as Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is backing Walia.
The rest of the five Cabinet ministers have managed to get tickets.
The candidate for Jungpura constituency, eyed by Tarvinder Marwah and Tajdar Babbar, has also not been finalised. Sadar Bazar and Trilokpuri constituencies also face a similar fate as Congress high command has not yet made up its mind. Anil Bhardwaj and S C Vats are fighting it out for the Trilokpuri seat, while the tiff is between Shadi Ram and Rajeev Jain at in Sadar Bazar.
Significantly, of the 49 sitting MLAs only 21 found their names in the list; four women are part of the initial list. Putting an end to speculations, Sheila Dikshit would continue to fight the elections from New Delhi constituency
